Xthe tradition continues

When Lyndell and Gordon Undy established point light in 1996 they brought to Australia an invaluable link with a rich tradition of fine black and white photography. This tradition is reflected in their philosophies of exhibiting and teaching and is tangibly available to all who visit point light.

This link was forged not only through many years of appreciation of the world's classical photographic output through books and galleries but also specifically in travels to meet and study with the acknowledged masters.

Time spent with Paul Caponigro on landscape, George Tice on silver and platinum processes and meetings, developing later into friendships, with others such as Linda Connor, established a lineage of connection through Minor White to Edward Weston, Edward Steichen, Harry Callahan and others.
