figments
19 April to 20 May 2007
A one hundred metre stretch of the North Johnstone River near Malanda in
Far North Queensland provides the subject matter for figments, which is my
expression of love for the place with its light, leaves, reflections and turtles.
This expression results from my work there during the past three winters.
figments is a portfolio of fourteen hand-coated platinum/palladium photographs
made on a base of Crane's 100% cotton natural white wove paper by direct contact
with the film which received its light stimulus from this exotic rainforest environment.
It is available as individual photographs and as a very limited edition of eight handmade books. Each leather bound and slipcased book has the fourteen handmade photographs tipped into its pages.
